Swim
Comments: Took me awhile to settle down. Started off on the the left side, let the majority of the swimmers start ahead of me. Didn't do a very good job of sighting once on the course. Never really got into an extended rythem. I was never afraid of not finishing the swimm, I had more than enough energy, just wish I was smoother. I was satisfied with my time in conjunction with the little amount of time I have spent swimming this year so far. What would you do differently?: Practice swimming more. Transition 1
Comments: A very long run from the water to the bikes. I brought some old sneakers to throw on when I got out of the water. There were some people with nothing on their feet. It took over 4 min. to get out of the water and run up the hill and across the field. Wet suit came off fine but I put my shirt on inside out and twisted. Took time to fix that problem. Dried my feet and put on socks, bike shoes, race number, glasses, helmut and I was off What would you do differently?: Either have my shirt already on under my wet suit or double check that is inside right. Bike
Comments: Felt good on the bike. lots of rolling hills. Slow grind from Holliston toward rt 85 and into downtown Hopkinton. Big down hill from the Boston Marathon to Weston Nusries, hit 39mph. Saw a few flats but I felt the roads were fine. Ate 2 Hammer gels at the start of both loops, and a few shot blocks with two bottles of water. Legs felt goods at the end but was getting a bit of a saddle sore. What would you do differently?: Ride more Transition 2
Comments: Dried feet, changed socks. Feet were cold and wet form the bike. What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: The weather and dense forest made the run nice and cool. Legs felt great right out of the gate, tried to keep a nice steady pace. Ankle started to hurt out of the blue at mile 3 but just keeped running.Water stations every few miles. Had two cups of water throughout the run. Happy with the run. What would you do differently?: nothing Post race
Warm down: Walked around, ate a turkey sandwich, chips and water. Watched a few people finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: Was not really feeling very motivated the last week. Almost didn't race. But my wife said that I better race after all the time I've spent training. I was happy that I did race. Timberman here I come. More training Event comments: Good race. I will do this race again. Last updated: 2010-05-06 12:00 AM
