  • Comments: Nothing they can do about the hills haha. Race was a little late starting, 5-10 minutes. Not much food after but the chicken was really good. No beer. Not much set up there but they have a massive area which is nice. Tough race but a good one. I'd do it again. The T1 from the swim is insane though. However the swim was beautiful. The water was borderline refreshing it was so clean and cool. Don't know what it was about the swim but I loved the lake.

  • Comments: Overall I had a great time!! While my overall time placed my 123 out of 150 or so people, I still consider the race a great success. I beat my target time of 2:00 hours by 10 minutes and improved on my swim, run, and T2 times. I ran the event with my brother-in-law and neighbor and also had my family there rooting me on. It was a special moment when I approached the end of the race and my 9 year old son ran up to me, slapped my five, and ran the last 100 feet with me to the finish line - can't ask for better than that on Father's Day.

  • Comments: Can't beat the location, nice water and good bike course. Run is challenging. They don't get a ton of volunteers but its a good small relaxed throwback type of race. Did this last year as well with IDENTICAL time down to the second.

  • Comments: The course was great except for T1, but that's a special feature of this race. I'll probably do it again because it's so close to home, beautiful setting, and it's an inexpensive Oly. But it's not a stylish, professional-looking, tightly-run ship like a MaxP race.

  • Comments: The staff was nice but they have a reputation for not having all the stats and missing the swim angered me. Additionally the post race food was awful.

  • Comments: Overall a good race. I've only done 3 Olympic distace races, but I think it would be hard to find one more challenging, esp the swim to bike transition. The hills on the bike and run (one right out of transition) made for a good workout. Not sure of the exact run distance - seemed longer than 6 miles though.

  • Comments: Organizers were just starting to set up transition area 1.5 hrs prior to race start time - didn't finish until about 1 hr before. Not initially body marking at earlier registration time, then later had to wait in long line. No labeling of bike in/out vs run in/out and one race organizer with FIRM (Not a Lions volunteer) actually said to me when I asked "I don't know, but they'll tell you when you go through in transition, but maybe you want to know ahead of time, huh?" YEAH! Come on. That's pretty basic. She was the 2nd person I had asked, the first just said, "I think..." but couldn't give me a clear answer... finally a 3rd could tell me definitively. I fortunately knew from BT people about the interesting T1 situation and recommendation for shoes for T1 - but a lot of people did not and either did not have shoes, or were returning to transition area to try to grab a pair of shoes after taking the initial walk down to the beach, and then having to rush to get back down to the

  • Comments: Rainy miserable day. i met the director of the race.... he was very nice and helpful. they were really great to me to wait for me to come in and make sure I got home. I did actually get lossed at one point and asked for directions. The committee found me once i was on track.

  • Comments: The rain really put a damper on things. It made the run from the swim to the bike transition area very dangerous. Race was great for my second triathlon and my first olympic distance event.

  • Comments: Given all the challenges I faced today (weather, mechanical problems, GI trouble) I was glad to have finished the race, but I was surprised by how much further back in the pack I was compared to the sprint races earlier this year.
