Swim
Comments: The water is shallow for at least the first 75 yards and people run in the water for a pretty good distance. I started to the far left and ended up getting trapped between a couple of people breast stroking. Once I was able to move around them and to the outside of the pack it was a lot easier. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: The course has a few more hills in the beginnig than I remembered. Once you get to the second half of the course it is mostly all down hill to the finish and it was easy to push hard. It does start to get congested the last three miles because the Oly and Sprint courses converge as well as share the road with the run course. Transition 2
Run
Comments: First run outside since last October and the ankle surgery in January. This was the perfect course to try the ankle out. It went much better than expected and I was happy with the results. Post race
Event comments: Great race that I hope to participate in every year. Last updated: 2010-05-11 12:00 AM

Got up at 0500, ate a quick bowl of cheerios with a banana and headed for Buffalo around 0530. I had loaded the bike and packed all the gear the night before so it was nice to be able to just have breakfast and go. Once in Buffalo I picked up the race packet, got body marked and set up transition.
