  • Comments: Glad to have it back in 2019, but would have liked a bit more post race food options. Also while medals do not really matter when you've offered them since inception to remove them without saying anything feels a bit cheap especially when I paid the standard price.

  • Comments: I did buffalo tri about 8 years ago. It's a fun race. It is about 1 hour from my house but the lake is beautiful and the bike course is interesting.

  • Comments: This race is still good but is not at the level it was prior to Graniteman events taking it over. I am not saying they do not do a good job because they do it is just that the previous director really poured his heart into this event. Hence registration has dropped from 1200-1500 to just under 900. Good and bad thing.

  • Comments: Too big I think. The swim is crazy every year I've done it. I've seen people do dumb things on the bike. The management is changing but to a for profit group so they probably won't limit the size.. It's so early in the season that the weather is dicey but this year was not bad, even with the late spring and cold water. But it may be time to try another venue because of the numbers.

  • Comments: I covered most in the report but this is a great event. I will attend in years to come. I got the itch and look forward to many more tris in the future!

  • Comments: The change in leadership went smooth but the event just did not have its typical feel. There were minor changes but not having the post race sandwiches was a bit of a disappointment.

  • Comments: Really enjoyed Buffalo as my first tri! I will be back next year. Loved the atmosphere and had a blast. Loved the bike course and the open roads were not an issue. The run was tight, but we all survived.

  • Comments: Overall for me - I can't be happier with the results for my first tri. It is 4 months to the day from my fall and while I'm healing, I'm not back to the fitness level I need to be. Next tri is in 27 days and then in 12 weeks. I plan to reset the training plan to focus on the 2nd race. I hope to build endurance and speed between now and then. The race itself was well run, but some things were a bit lacking. Not enough SWAG for the later finishers. There was no map or walk through of the transition area. Had to figure out the ins and outs by yourself. No direction for first timers. Too many people. They need to cut the number of participants. The course can't hold the number of people they are allowing in.

  • Comments: This is a good race for a new person - very welcoming of newbies. Unfortunately it is really too crowded they need to find some way to break up the waves differently if they are going to have this many people on this small of a course.

  • Comments: I like this race; it has a good vibe. It's community-sponsored and there are no commercial ads on the shirts which is cool. Good prizes for winners and a really nice awards ceremony that included a live band playing before and after. But they made some changes that were not good. About 1600 between the two distances and this is too many for the venue--not new since it is like that every year. New method of packet pick-up meant waiting in 2 lines instead of 1--that was annoying and no faster in the end. There were not enough volunteers to manage the lines that snaked around and intersected making it confusing as to what the lines were even for. Most races do lines in alphabetical order. Use small intervals in alphabet so you can better spread out the volunteers. Why not use volunteers to pre-pack the packets the week before with everything but the shirt? Because of the location, many people drive in that morning for the race, so early packet pick-up isn't an option for many. It's

  • Comments: This is an excellent race for people of all abilities. The organization is top-notch, planning is clear, website up to date, and volunteer help is only matched perhaps by the MPLS Lifetime tri. I will definitely do this race year after year.

  • Comments: Awesome race. Despite the crowds on the bike course, very well organized, lots of help from volunteers, and plenty of cheering folks for support. Would do it again if I wasn't planning on Liberty next year.

  • Comments: This was my first triathlon so I can't really rate it against other experiences. A four because of the bike course being crowded and rumbley. Otherwise a great experience. I will probably be back!

  • Comments: I liked the race course. It was crazy with 1500 people there and I wish more of our group had done it. I'd certainly do it again even with the bike safety issues. There were huge vehicle back-ups and MN-ans aren't very patient when it comes to their cars.
