Swim
Comments: Again, my best swim yet. What would you do differently?: Pay more attention to the people around me. Don't want to get kicked in the head again. Transition 1
Comments: Went well considering the new bike and shoes. What would you do differently?: Nothing that I can think of. Just practice. Bike
Comments: Great bike. I just think i prefer longer races that give me a chance to acclimate to the distance. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 2
Comments: Went well, No complaints. What would you do differently?: Practice. I suppose I could always be quicker. Run
Comments: Calves were really tight in the beginning but evened out about 1.5 miles in. The first turn was not marked or manned. I am so happy someone knew where they were going. The malfunctioning Garmin didn't help but it all went well. The 4 miles were over before you knew it. What would you do differently?: Run more and work on getting my time down. Post race
Warm down: Walked around and downed a muffin and fruit and water. Hung out with the family :) What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing really. I think I really enjoy the longer courses. It actually gives my body a chance to adjust and get in a groove. Event comments: A fantastic race. Fun all around and a great vibe. Easily on par with the Cranberry Tri Fest. Up at 430 and a quick peanut butter sandwich for b'fast. A full bottle of water and I was ready to go. I had packed everything the night before so all I had to do was get the bike on the car.
Set up transition and said hi to a few folks I knew doing the Patriot Half. Got on my new wetsuit (fit great) and mentally walked through each transition. A little nervous about that. This is my first season with a tri bike and bike shoes. Hopped into the lake to quick get wet and waited for the start.
