Pre-race routine:

Up at 430 and a quick peanut butter sandwich for b'fast. A full bottle of water and I was ready to go. I had packed everything the night before so all I had to do was get the bike on the car.
Event warmup:

Set up transition and said hi to a few folks I knew doing the Patriot Half. Got on my new wetsuit (fit great) and mentally walked through each transition. A little nervous about that. This is my first season with a tri bike and bike shoes. Hopped into the lake to quick get wet and waited for the start.

Calves were really tight in the beginning but evened out about 1.5 miles in. The first turn was not marked or manned. I am so happy someone knew where they were going. The malfunctioning Garmin didn't help but it all went well. The 4 miles were over before you knew it.
What would you do differently?:

Run more and work on getting my time down.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around and downed a muffin and fruit and water. Hung out with the family :)

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing really. I think I really enjoy the longer courses. It actually gives my body a chance to adjust and get in a groove.

Event comments:

A fantastic race. Fun all around and a great vibe. Easily on par with the Cranberry Tri Fest.

Course: This was my best swim ever. Since last year I have become far more confident and started more towards the front. The swim went great I went out a little hard but soon got into a groove. Only got kicked in the face one so that was a plus. Sighting was perfect.

Course: Bike was great! My quads hurt for about the first third of the ride but all in all it went well. My Garmin crapped out and all i have is HR data for the bike. Have to get it in to Garmin for repair before the Providence Half. I'll die without it. :(
