Comments:

Run felt really good. I had heard from many people that this race was going to be very hilly and tough, but since this is where I live and I run these roads all the time I knew what to expect. At mile 2 you have to head up Western avenue for almost a mile which is totally vertical; definetly the most challenging uphill I have done to date. From there the next 4 miles are all rolling hills until the turn around. At the turn around I was about 59 minutes into it so I picked up the pass and went back. My dad and mom were at the turn-a-round which was fun. Never had to stop once to walk and only really felt tired at mile 11.

What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around to pick up my finisher shirt and medal. Then had to do the tough mile walk back to my car. My legs are pretty damn sore today at work (2 days after race) even after I swam this morning, but it is a good sore. There are several runners at my office and were all impressed with my PV 1/2 time. I think the 1/2 Vineman run will be very similar in diffculty to this so it was a great test run. I have now offically done all the 1/2 ironman distances. Hopefully now I can do them all at once!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing.
