Swim
Comments: Couldn't swim straight. Every time I put my head down I'd veer to the right. The return trip was even a worse zig-zag course. When I actually swam straight I didn't feel too slow but I don't know how many extra yards I went. Note: Time does include run up beach/grass slope to transition area. What would you do differently?: I guess my left arm technique is much better than my right. I kinda knew that but it's easy to dismiss that with a black line to follow. Of course OWS and sighting practice would be useful as well. Transition 1
Comments: Much better than my frirst tri (4:30ish) Went without socks and that saved alot of time. Everything went fairly smooth just need to pick up th oerall pace a bit. AG Rank 32/42 What would you do differently?: Nothing, more experience will help cut this down some more. Bike
Comments: Good ride, longer and harder course that last tri, but I averaged a half mph faster. Slow up the cliff but still passed alot of riders in this section. My climbing has definitely improved recently. Would have loved to break my high goal of 20 mph but happy with beating my realistic goal of at least 19.26 mph. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
Comments: A little slow, had some problems putting on the running shoes with no socks. In the end the tongue got outside the side putting an odd pressure point on the top of the foot. Didn't notice till I left transition area. AG Rank 39/42 What would you do differently?: Need to figure something out for this. Mabe hold the tonge in place with a few stitches of elastic thread. Will experiment before next tri. Run
Comments: Tough hills on this one. Not only the initial one but lots of steep ups on the trail as well. The steep downs were no walk in the park either. Am happy I "ran" the whole bluff even though the pace was down in the walking range. Not really dispointed with the time, not a course for a PR. No suprise here that this segment is my lowest ranking. What would you do differently?: I know I need to train on hills more. Not that I'm going to, but I knnow I need to. I also don't train on trails so this type of running is new to me. Post race
Warm down: No stretching or anything like that. Had orange, banana, pasta. What limited your ability to perform faster: need to: 1. Swim more 2. Bike more 3. Run more Event comments: Lots of volunteers, well organized, all intersections are controlled. I was supposed to be in the clydesdale division, instead I was put in my AG. Since I wouldn't have placed as a clyde I didn't bother correcting it, but here's how I would have ranked: Overall 9/28 Swim 15/28 T1 15/58 Bike 11/28 T2 19/28 Run 13/28 (run ranking looks alot better when compared to others who have something extra to haul up the hill) Last updated: 2006-01-13 12:00 AM
