Got up about 4:45. Ate some toast with PB and left around 5:30.

DFL for my age group on the swim. I guess swimming into the wind was much harder than I thought. Of course, I swim the breaststroke without putting my head in the water..

What would you do differently?:

I've got to learn how to swim freestyle. I'm a bit shocked at my swim time. Almost 7 minutes slower than last year.

Felt good on the run. I have no concept of speed. No one except some teenager passed me. I did pass two teenagers that passed me on the bike.

Umm, training.

Event comments:

I enjoyed it very much. I was worried about how cold it was and the cold water given that I don't wear a wetsuit, but everything turned out ok. I'm pretty happy with my effort although I would have like to beat my time from last year.
