Swim
Comments: My ranking says it all! Only swam 2 times since Ironman 70.3 Texas so my swim was very poor. I knew it would be going in, so I didn't expect alot. I did manage to get into a rhythm on the the way back in and I felt good enough all things considered. What would you do differently?: Train. Starting June 21st will be swimming 4 times a week. Transition 1
Comments: How is every thing good and average but the time was so poor? Simple... the dropdown didn't have "fire ants" as an option. When I got to T1 there were fire ants on my cycling shoes!!!!!!!! I'm allergic to fire ants! Seeing as I didn't want to end up in the hospital I took my time and brushed my shoes off with a towel prior to putting them on. What would you do differently?: Spray my shoes with some "bug be gone". Bike
Comments: The bike went very well. The neighborhood area gave me time to get my heart rate down from T1, after that I got into a good pace. Had a slight wind out and a slight tailwind back, but overall wind had little affect. The best thing about the ride was getting "block" by the motorcycle official. I yelled out "on your left" and they moved right and let me pass. Never thought I would pass one of the officials. The official came up to me after the race an apologized for blocking very cool but unnecessary. We had a good laugh about the situation. What would you do differently?: Not much. My goal was 22 and I ended up with 22.2. Still need to work on my ability to push harder. Transition 2
Comments: No T2 info. Got added in with my run time. I know it was slow because there were now fire ants on my run shoes. What would you do differently?: Call a pest company and have the transition area sprayed prior to the race. Run
Comments: Run felt good..... was very muggy but actually felt pretty good during the run. The pace of 8:08 per mile actually includes my T2 time so if I conservatively estimate a T2 time of 1:30 (probably longer due to fire ants) it puts my run pace at 7:37 per mile and 13th age group rank (But we will never know). When I saw the 8:08 I was a bit disappointed because I thought I put forth a better effort and I just really wanted to go sub 8 after a good bike. What would you do differently?: I'm definitely better at running a slower pace for a longer distance. I need to work on speed, but still want to stay healthy. Just need to find the balance. Post race
Warm down: Some cold water, and even colder SHINER! What limited your ability to perform faster: No excuses! It was the same for everybody. I just need to train harder and smarter than 20 guys ahead of me. Event comments: It was a very good race. Well organized, and well supported. Last updated: 2010-05-26 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4am, got in the car (all ready packed) and ate a bagel with peanut butter and sipped some water and gatorage.
Met some fellow BT's, set up my transition area and relaxed. Went for a short run to start sweating and then went for a short swim. It was very muggy at 97% humidity
