  • Comments: Tejas never disappoints. Great course for racers and spectators, and post-race food is plentiful. Glad they changed the bike course back to the 2010 version as opposed to 2011 bike course. Favorite race of any distance that I have ever done.

  • Comments: Not the best version of this race (my 3rd year to do this one). Still, well organized. A few minutes late getting started. Excellent volunteer and police support. I made sure to say thank you or give a friendly nod as I passed each of them. Plenty of aid stations. New bike course = FAIL. Too much cornering, turning, and the additional 1/2 loop created some confusion and dangerous cross-traffic between 1st and 2nd loopers. On-site results were a pain and not updated. Results were listed on a scrolling computer monitor...tough to see and did not have my results listed even after about 45 minutes from my finish. Race shirts this year appeared to be of cheaper quality compared to the Brooks shirts from the past two years.

  • Comments: Very well organized, staffed. There was the little misdirection on the swim and I did hear a few people say the volunteers on the bike route at the start of lap 2 were confused on which way to send bikers.

  • Comments: The run was not marked well enough. In the turn after the water station at mile 2, there was no sign at the corner. I saw runners going straight and others going right. Luckily, a water station volunteer was near and I asked. Otherwise I might have been totally off course.

  • Comments: Probably my favorite race I've done. 2009 was great and 2010 was equally enjoyable. Great voluteers and a very fair, scenic, shaded course. Only knock is that I could not find any Gatorade bottles post-race.

  • Comments: This was my 4th year to do this race. It's always well-run, the venue is great, and the field is very competitive. No complaints about anything. Saw the RD and his wife as I was leaving and complimented them on another outstanding event. I love this race because the RD is a triathlete in my AG and he always takes care of us old guys with an early swim wave and a well placed TA rack. The only reason I rated it a "4" was no post-race music or beer, but those are minor issues.
