Pre-race routine:

Was up at 4am, had some oatmeal and a bananna. We decided to take a cab down to the start, instead of getting on the shuttle from the football stadium. This cost us more getting there, but was alot faster.
Event warmup:

No real warmup done did some light stretches. Could not believe how many people were there. Adding the half marathon to this event doubled it in size. My wife was in corral 37, she was doing the half. I made my way up to my corral, 15.

Comments:

It was very humid out on the course, once the sun came out it became alot harder. I tried to take in more cytomax than normal due to an increase in sweating because of the humidity. I felt my right calf begin to cramp at around mile 17, and then both cramped hard at mile 23. The last 3 miles were hard and my pace slowed considerably during those last miles.
What would you do differently?:

I guess i needed to take in even more fluids than I did. I did not skip any water stations. Even with the warmer conditions this year I was about 5 min faster than what I ran last year. I wanted to get below the 4:15 time, and was on track to until the last 3 miles when both legs cramped.
Post race
Warm down:

There was soooo many people at the finish line celebration. We just wanted to get back to the hotel. Didn't really want to walk to the trolley station, so we waited in this terribly long line for shuttles that were taking us to the trolley station. Waited in this line for nerarly an hour, and little did we know that the trolley station was just over a mile away, if I would have known that I would have never waited. Then we had to wait in another line to get on the trolley. Took almost 2 hrs to go about 3 miles back to our hotel.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Darn legs cramping

Event comments:

The race was good, the post race needs some work. Not sure what they can do to get everybody out of the area more efficiently.
