Swim
Comments: Swim was slow for everyone, which I think had more to do with the chop then being long. Everyone was 2-3 minutes slower then expected and based off last years time. also, my swim time inlcudes T1. What would you do differently?: find a draft Transition 1
Comments: T1 included in swim. good T1 Bike
Comments: good bike, but I lost significant time on a downhill, where I had to go into the grass because I couldn't handle the turn. awful mistake, lost all momentum and csot me a minute easy. went from 30+ MPH to around 1, into the grass, then had to build speed back up.... What would you do differently?: not be an idiot at that downhill turn that I knew was coming Transition 2
Run
Comments: ahhhh...the demise of every race it seems. The run. It's not a pacing issue, as my runs are right were my fitness would indicate. I just need to be a better runner. 1-2 minutes faster, which would still not be fast, would get me right where I need to be. running is my weakness for sure. If my biking and swimming stayed the same, but I became a better runner, I'd be a better triathlete. In fact, I could even lose some on the bike as long as I became a better runner. I/my coach think it is a few things: -biomechanics -weight -more run training What would you do differently?: run more in training Post race
Warm down: pizza, cookies, choclate milk. figure I'd get a jump start on that weight issue holding me back on the run. :) What limited your ability to perform faster: 3 weeks of no structured training and an IM 3 weeks ago. Event comments: good race put on by my tri club. I entered the Elite wave this year, and did OK. I am capable of better where I am at today, just wasn't able to bring my A game due to obvious reasons. All in all, a good day and a great race! Last updated: 2010-06-03 12:00 AM
