  • Comments: This is a really small race, only 72 Intermediate and 160 Sprint participants, plus relays & Aquabike. It has a small, local feeling. The scenery is beautiful. There is one especially challenging long, steep hill, and all the way up, chalked on the pavement, are words of encouragement such as: "You're halfway there," "This is why your friends don't do Caz," and "Go, Go, Go" written about a hundred times. It's a very nice touch. The sandwiches, salad, & fruit after the race were not fancy but good. I enjoyed the race. I'd do it again.

  • Comments: It was fantastic to have my wife, daughter #2 and the Fleet Feet Syracuse Coaches there to cheer me on! Overall this was harder than I expected it to be. But I finished AND I got a 3rd place in my age group and 37th out of 130 overall in this sprint distance. I really don't think I could have asked for more for my 1st triathlon! As I spoke with other people it really did seem like this is a well-respected race and draws a fairly competitive field. To place in this was a really, really good feeling!

  • Comments: I was really excited about my time, over 10 minutes faster than last year. While I was only 8/9 in AG the AG was pretty competitive compared to other races I have been in. Second time doing the race and I will be back. I only wish the labeled Bike racks as it was a pain having athletes try to squeeze bike in.

  • Comments: Elites were in a wave of their own. About 20 from that group placed ahead of me, so OA rankings are not as nifty as they might seem. Still very solid race for me. Adverse conditions in the water and on the bike, but I kept my wits and battled through.

  • Comments: I thought this race was well run. There was plenty of food at the end, and lots of door prizes. The atmosphere was great, I will be back and hope to do better.

  • Comments: good race put on by my tri club. I entered the Elite wave this year, and did OK. I am capable of better where I am at today, just wasn't able to bring my A game due to obvious reasons. All in all, a good day and a great race!

  • Overall course based on my ability:

  • Comments: Tale of two races in a way. Swim through bike were right where I wanted them, but things went downhill beginning with T2. Again, it's a PR for me and a place on the podium (2nd in AG), so I should be pleased, but I don't like the way I finished, and I don't like the fact that I couldn't get tough for my last tri of the season. Definitely something to think about as we head toward fall.

  • Comments: 1. The race website listed the race start time as 8:45, and at packed pickup I was told the start would be at 8:30. I don't want to miss a race! This wasn't consistent last year either... At one point before the race, the domain name expired and the course website was down for a week. 2. The exit/entry to the park is on a steep grade. Lined with spectators on either side, with cones down the middle. There isn't much room for error! My fans reported many people slipping either when they mounted their bikes or were entering/exiting the transition area on the run.

  • Comments: great race. this is my tri-cubs race, so I see a lot of faces I know. there were some fast people here. my time would have won the race 2 years ago, so the RD told me. the winner of the sprint set a course record, as was intermediate.

  • Comments: Nice community event, but a relatively poor showing on my part. Racing is great, in part, because it usually provides a clear and honest reflection of the training you've got behind you. I can't say I liked what I saw, but then, the truth sometimes hurts. I might cut myself a break here and chalk up my difficulties to a tough period in my life, but the fact is it's time for me to buckle down and get back into a serious training regimen again. That or turn into a couch potato again. No, thank you.
