Pre-race routine:

Laid everything out the night before. Up about 5, tried to eat an english muffin but my nerves didn't let me. Pop on the drive to Sears and on the shuttle bus.
Event warmup:

Walk to try and find Katie start the 10 Mile, no luck. Walk around the Dome, to bag drop and the start. In my spot about 7:40 or so.
Run
  • 3h 24m 17s
  • 26.2 miles
  • 07m 48s  min/mile
Comments:

Wanted to follow the 3:20 pacer. We went out at 7:20, slowed, picked it up, slowed, on pace at mile 8, and about 40 seconds up at the half. I tried to stay on pacee but the group kept pulling away and I was mostly hitting 7:35 till mile 18 or so, slowed to about 8:10 for 21-25, picked it back up down the last hill after the Viking float.
What would you do differently?:

Not worry about the pacer. I think followning his inconsistent pace early on hurt me.
Post race
Warm down:

Stretch, walk about a mile back to the car.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Didn't hit my 3:20 goal, but I did run a PR, so I can't complain.

Event comments:

I really like this race. Will be back to run with my wife next year for her first marathon.
