Overall pretty happy with this other than slicing a huge gash in my finger 30- seconds before gun went off, spent a minute after gun went off sucking my finger to no avail. Took it a little easier this year hoping not to get HR up to high right from start

Comments:

Overall real happy with bike, tried to take it easier than last year and not spike heart rate, did first 6 or so miles in small chain ring except when going down hills, felt great was able to pick it up and in last 10 or so miles when I saw had chance to avg 20 mph tried to do so, course I think was long as Garmin said 56.7 and mph 20.3
What would you do differently?:

Run
  • 2h 04m 41s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 09m 31s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt great the first 7 miles, then hit the big hill was determined to run the hill this year and did, but HR spiked to 190 and then had a tought time getting down from there without really slowing but still felt ok, then hit mile 11 and just hit the wall. Had to take a few walking breaks. Looking back does not look like I took in enought calories as only had 750 on bike and maybe 350 on run.
Post race
Warm down:

Sat down relaxed, got finger cleaned out and bandaged, enjoyed time with family and friends, ate, drank

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Run again

Event comments:

Love this rate, although this year could really tell that there were more poeple doing it. Swim more crowded, bike course more crowded.
