Swim
Comments: This is my best swim ever. Knowing that I didn't have to bike meant I could push it. My arms will killing me for about 30 min after, so I did good. Having done the short course the day before and been much slower, I need to rock a wetsuit everytime. Transition 1
Comments: Relay to my friend. Long run uphill, then a 3 hr break for me. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: My buddy hasn't been on his bike in 7 weeks and he rode the short course the day before on my wife's relay team. For him to come out today and post 18 is a testament to how driven he can be. Very proud of him and a respectable time for this course. It's not easy. Transition 2
Comments: Fastest T2 ever!!! LOL. Run
Comments: So...shooting for 1:37:30, but that didn't happen. It was pretty toasty out there and quite windy. I was well hydrated from waiting, but I must have blown my legs out pretty good from racing the day before. I split the first half at 51:00, but slowed way down on the road back. A gel saved me from bonking at mile 12, but I started to get the flashy vision. While taxed cardiovascularly, I could not make my body run faster no matter what I told it. The heat finally got to me around mile 9, hence the body's reticence to obey!! Post race
Warm down: Eat, eat and eat. Event comments: I think Vacation Sports puts on good events. I will do the long course by myself again next year. I wanted to do the short course to see how I'd progressed. Now back to the longer stuff. Last updated: 2010-06-08 12:00 AM
