Swim
Comments: My goal: Not drowning What would you do differently?: Gulp air instead of water Transition 1
Comments: My feng-sui style gear arrangement worked well. Bike
Comments: Roads were much too crowded with cars for anything resembling racing. If they cannot close roads, a smaller self-contained loop within the Lake Lanier Islands property would have been better. What would you do differently?: Not swim first. Transition 2
Comments: I'm proud that I did not leave T2 with my helmet on. What would you do differently?: Take my bike shorts off Run
Comments: What can I say? When not shuffling, I walked. What would you do differently?: Find a swim, bike duathlon. Post race
Warm down: Take water bottle, dump over head. What limited your ability to perform faster: I could have removed the water bottle cap a bit faster. Event comments: I had no idea there were 1,000 "my first triathlon"-ers in Georgia. Come to find out, that title is just a title. No biggie, now that I know. It didn't change my experience any. As a true first timer, the event was adequate, but even I was unimpressed with the event overall. Course management was sloppy, way too many cars for a safe cycling event, and no crowd control, spectators just wandered wherever they chose on the course. My "Next" triathlon will be very likely be somewhere else. Last updated: 2010-06-08 12:00 AM

I think sleep the night before would have been better. Note to self: Do not drink copious amounts of coffee 10:00 p.m. the night before the race.
I looked at the massive hill / long path between water and T1. That got my heart rate going.
