Pre-race routine:

Walked about 1/2 mile to the race site. It was so humid that by the time I made it to transition, I was dripping with sweat! I actually almost forgot to pick up my timing chip!

I jumped in the water to swim a little since I wouldn't be wearing a wetsuit.

The bike was pretty comfortable. As usual, I passed many people and never looked back.
What would you do differently?:

train harder to stay in aero position the whole time instead of going back and forth.

I should have had my gel more accessible and T2 would have been even shorter! Oh well!

My strategy was to aim for all the bigger guy who looked like they were in my division. I would catch them, then pass them one by one.
What would you do differently?:

I should have kick in earlier around 3/4 miles left instead of 1/2. I only missed taking home some hardware by 24 seconds!!! That really sucks!!

Warm down:

I chugged a lot of gatorade! Only had one slice of pizza. I just wasn't too hungry!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My recent weight gain.

Event comments:

I will keep this race on my annual calendar! It allowed me to push harder than usual and test my progress.
