Swim
Comments: Got in and swam. Passed one girl in the first lane. We were 10 feet off the wall, and I knew she wouldn't stop at the wall, so I cut her off and swam in front her. Yes, it was rude. But I really get tired of slow swimmers not letting people pass them at the wall. In the second lane I passed some guy who cut in line. He was going down the middle of the lane. So I went to pass right and touched his right foot. He went right. Fine. Then I had to cut over left and got a nice kick to my elbow- right on the painful part of where my scar has healed from bike wreck. Ugh. Oh well, it happens. After that no one passed me and I didn't pass anyone else. Got out of the water completely confused on how to EXIT the pool area. There was nothing marking where I had to go and I just saw walls around me. Finally figured it out and started running (had to go right and then left up a ramp behind this wall). 2009 Time: Swimming 00:06:07 | 350 meters | 01m 45s / 100meters Age Group: 1/24 What would you do differently?: Know how to get out of the pool! Comments: Not bad for me, considering how far I had to run to my bike! 2009: 1:40 Bike
Comments: My goal on the bike, not to get a side cramp. Since I rode 70 miles on Saturday (the day before!), I knew I wouldn't have much in me for this race. No biggie. My HIM is my main goal this year. I figured I would keep an "easy" pace and think about it in terms of my pace for my HIM. For the HIM I want to keep a 18 mph average. Considering I did a 19 mph average without too much effort at this race, I feel pretty good about that. Overall not too bad on the course. Only played leap frog with one guy, who HAD to pass RIGHT when there was a huge section of bad road. I, of course, had to ride through the messed up section of road to let him pass me back, all of a sudden. *Grumble* 2009: Biking 00:39:38 | 13 miles | 19.68 mile/hr Transition 2

Comments: Came out of T2 and saw Tim standing there talking to Sabrina. So not like him. He was not doing great because he was without water on the bike and just didn't feel like running. I convinced him to run with me. I told him I was keeping it easy and just having fun. So we took off. Kept a steady pace, walked the aid stations and talked. Cheered some people on and didn't take it too seriously. :) I got a side cramp on the run early on, that stuck with me till the end. Side cramps usually happen with me when I don't get to taper for a race. 2009 Time: Running 00:28:05 | 03.0999999 miles | 09m 04s min/mile Age Group: 10/24 PS- in 2009 I said I was going to come back and place in my AG on this course. Didn't happen. But I didn't taper AND I rode 70 miles the day before- again. Maybe 2012 I will place in my AG. 2011 I will be IM training. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, drank some water and Gatoraid. Then I went back on the course to run an additional 2 miles. Missed my long run day for this race, so had to put in some extra miles. What limited your ability to perform faster: No taper. Event comments: Top notch local race that is CLOSE to where I live. Always a selling point for me to drive 20 minutes to a race. A nice race for a great cause (the Fire Department). Last updated: 2010-06-15 12:00 AM

Woke up. Got in the car with Jonny. Drove over.
Nothing. I wasn't expecting anything from this race. I just didn't want to get a side cramp on the bike. This race was for fun... nothing else.
