Swim
Comments: Told myself to keep it slow and steady. Tried not to rush. I'm not a fast swimmer, so trying to go faster disprupts my breathing pattern and slows me down more. What would you do differently?: Not much. As good as can be expected of myself. Transition 1
Comments: By far the longest and toughest swim to bike transition I have done. I was warned to bring an extra pair of sneakers. Thank God for them. Uphill through woods. What would you do differently?: Not much. They should include that as major 4th part of this event. Swim, T1, bike, and run. Bike
Comments: Something must have happened with the timing chips. No bike splits for anyone after about the top 50 finishers. What would you do differently?: Not too much. I felt good on the bike. The Olympic distance events seem to draw stronger triathletes as compared to the sprint events, so I am usually in the lower half of the finishers, but I felt I did as best as I could expect. Transition 2
Comments: No t2 times recorded for me as well as alot of others not in the top 50. At least not yet/ Run
Comments: Try to stay steady. Was happy to maintain about and 8min/mile pace. What would you do differently?: More hill training if I race this one again. Post race
Warm down: Grabbed some food. Went home to shower! Event comments: Overall a good race. I've only done 3 Olympic distace races, but I think it would be hard to find one more challenging, esp the swim to bike transition. The hills on the bike and run (one right out of transition) made for a good workout. Not sure of the exact run distance - seemed longer than 6 miles though. Last updated: 2010-06-17 12:00 AM

Up at 5:50. Ate and drove up to race. I had gotten everything ready the night before, so was pretty much ready to go.
Some light running. Swam for about 10 minutes. Wait for the rain to stop! Which it did.
