Comments:

the water was very, very cold. I did a warm up 200 to get use to the cold water and felt ok after that. It was foggy on top of the water and was hard to see the bouys untill the last turn. The start was ok but I fell behind some slow people and they were looking for the turns and slowed me to a stop 3-4 times and was running over them for the first 400 or so. After that I got in a good pace and did good for the rest of the swim.

I had to put on warm weather stuff so this was a very long t-1 for me. Arm warmers. gloves, and a wind breaker jacket.

I have done this ride several times and have rode over 18. The second part coming back we had a head wind and it slowed me down a bit. I did pass a girl that was I guess you could say showing her buisness because her suit was open in the back. I had to take a second look...lol... I also got a drafting penalty of 4 min and was not happy about that because I saw them coming and made sure that I was 3 bikes back, but still got the penalty. If I would have got it looking at the girls buisness I would understand but that is not when I got it:)

As I came in to t-2 I had dropped my garmin and did not see were I dropped it. I racked my bike and saw it was gone, so I had to run back and find it. It was at the entrance were we came in so I ran back and got all my run things together and took off. Not the best time but I had allot of stuff to take off.

Well lets see, I started out good and held my pace but was a little slow. I did run the whole course and walked the water stations. I got a few cramps at about mile 10 and had to slow down some to keep them from coming back. With the 3 loop cours we did run in grass and on gravel for a while and that did slow me down and there were allot of turns on the course.

Event comments:

This is the first year that I have done this race and my 3rd HIM for the year. I did not finish the first and 7:30 on the second and here I was 6:19 so I guess you can say that I was very happy about the race> That time does not include the 4min penalty by the way. I did like the cours and the 3 loop run because it is nice to see people on the run and not just out in no mans land. All though the swim was cold and the bike was even colder I would say that I will try this race again next year. It is very well organized and small and it plays to the locals very well. The price of the race is great and I will see yall next year.
