Pre-race routine:

Regular morning routine, wore visor instead of race hat. Ate: Starbuck Vanilla Roobios Tea, English McMuffin with Turkey Bacon, Water.
Event warmup:

Light jog and walk around park. 2 minute stretch.
Run
  • 36h 25m 15s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 11h 44m 55s  min/mile
Comments:

Run went well. Very crowded and I waited until most of the people had crossed the start line before started. Ran with the 3r. 1.5 walk.
What would you do differently?:

Practice pace before race day. Focus on breathing during final mile of run. For some reason, I was thinking of game play and could not get my breathing down for that final 3/4 mile. It was rough.
Post race
Warm down:

Continued to jog a bit and 2 glasses of water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Heat and delayed start. New Pace. Running around so many strollers and walkers.

Event comments:

This was the largest race I have ever attended. It felt as if the vendors were a little crammed up. The director started to read the race results of the 5k, while the 15k finishers came in. It was very hard to hear. At the race site, only the overall race results were posted, not age group. On the website, all results were correctly posted by the end of the next day.
