Swim
Comments: At start of wave i missed the sounding-had to catch up.I was the last one in. What would you do differently?: I would be in front of the pack of my wave. Transition 1
Comments: I went right into my running shoes, helmet and sunglasses.Wasn't familiar w/ the transition process, where i t was legal to hop onbike etc. What would you do differently?: Hrmm, in future perhaps clip shoes-could be faster w/ experience I'm sure. Bike
Comments: 10 speed much slower than racing bikes-but i kept pedaling along :) What would you do differently?: Train better-had 1 week on a borrwoed bike-i was glad for the bike though.Although ranking myself below avg i did OK or avg for me :) Transition 2
Run
Comments: This is my usual running speed w/o any prior activity.I think it would be slower -this probably attributed to T2 mess up. What would you do differently?: Train for speed. Post race
Warm down: I did not do post-race warm-down exept to revel in being done :) What limited your ability to perform faster: Was my first tri-inexperience mostly. Rode a 20 yr old 10 speed-I was careful not to press myself too fast secondary to strained calf 1 week prior to event. Event comments: I thoroughly enjoyed this race-the volunteers were great-very cheerful and encouraging. Fellow racers were very friendly! The course suited me as a beginner and 1st ever tri. Ate and hydrated 2 hrs b4 race-had a small cup of coffee w/ it. Had 1/2 wheat bagel w/peanut butter, 1/2 hard boiled egg, 1/4 C skim milk, few bites of yogurt.
Worked out great as far as having to use bathroom.
Nervous but happy to be there-did only very generalized AROM in standing.
