Draft Day Dash - Run5k

Just going back through my old race results and adding them to BT. This was my first ever organized race. I was aiming for 36 minutes, so I was pretty happy with the result. I learned a few valuable lessons:
1. There's no need for packet pickup the day before for a 5k.
2. I'm not quite as slow as I think I am...don't start all the way in the back of the pack.
3. Most races have chip timing. Even so, full results are usually posted. I didn't get to experience this until my third race.

Had a hot dog and gatorade while waiting for Steph to finish.


It's sad that they don't do this race anymore. Even though it was $5 more than the average 5k and no results posted outside of the top 100 male & female finishers (out of roughly 1500), it was a really fun event. Each year had at least one or two Bucs players attending. There was also an organized stretch/warmup routine led by the cheerleaders. And of course, finishing on the field while you watch yourself on the jumbotron is an experience can't get anywhere else. Now that the draft starts during the week, I can't imagine it ever coming back.
