Comments: I was in 4th wave and water was pretty choppy at first -- I swam with my head above water until the first bouy. First tri of the season, so nerves were a bit on edge at first. Got into a rhythm after rounding first bouy. What would you do differently?: OWS more Transition 1
Comments: As with all FIRM races, T1 was incorporated into bike time. I did get the wetsuit off pretty fast, though. Used body glide AND Pam. Bike
Comments: Since I live down the road from the race, I've been practicing the bike course. I averaged 1 mph more in the race than in practice. What would you do differently?: Nothing -- I felt like I rocked the course. I was passed by very few people Transition 2
Comments: Heh - I started racking my bike in the wrong spot... T2 time added to run time. What would you do differently?: pay attention? Run
Comments: My heart rate was way up when I started the run .. stopped and walked about 30 yds to help get it down.... I had to walk up the off-road hill -- What would you do differently?: Nothing -- it was a "different" run course that is unique to this race. Post race
Warm down: watermelon, banana, walking and stretching What limited your ability to perform faster: nothing. I was pleased to place in the top half of my age group.
