  • Comments: FIRM nails it again. One of the most fun days I've had in a long time. Thank you. I wouldn't change a thing. Wonderful participation, organization, beautiful medals and of course...Appleman! I love how they said, "Grace Coller, you are and Appleman." at the end. Just great!

  • Overall course based on my ability: Too hard

  • Comments: I think it was a bad choice of a run course. It the course had just been hilly and not had a section that was a "trail run", it would still have been tough but not horrible. Having such a difficult trail was a bad choice in my opinion. There were sections where the trail was only one person wide, sections where you were running through thick grass that was above shoe level, sections where the rocks/roots were so severe that you risked injury trying to run, and one section that was roots/rocks on a steep uphill that all but required walking. I was disappointed when the results weren't posted somewhere at the race site. I hung around for while after I finished getting some fluid and food in me and they never posted the results at the race. That was a first. Then, the results weren't posted online until probably 6 hours after the event was over. I don't understand, in today's technology driven world, how it can take so long to post results. When the results were finally posted,

  • Comments: Very well organized and tons of volunteers, maybe started a little late due to National Anthem and long Monk prayers but that was OK. They did a great job directing you around the course. I placed 3rd in my age-group and placing was my biggest goal for 2011 - accomplished at first race of season so very pleased with that.

  • Comments: Exhilarating experience. Crowds were great. Great feel of accomplishment. A great THANK YOU to BT for letting me create a training schedule and keeping track of my progress. The program worked fantastically. Couldn't ask for anything better in terms of achievement. Will do it again next year or sooner.

  • Comments: This a really fun race and will be the only repeat race from my last year's schedule. I shaved about 3.5 minutes off last year's time, which I'm very happy about. I really liked this one and was pumped my dad got to do it as he's been battling a groin issue. It was also awesome to race/hang out with Chad (congrats on becoming a triathlete, you did great!) and Phil. It was nice great to get on the podium again too!

  • Comments: Awesome Race! Great crowd, weather, and just a great event in general. It was awesome for me to have Dad doing it (His first at age 57!). It was also my first sprint distance race so it was nice to do that distance. Got 3rd overall in my age group so it was great to get on the podium in my second triathlon ever. Definitely have a long way to go, but I'm really happy with this event.

  • Comments: Very enjoyable race for a 1st timer. I'd recommend this race to other 1st timers if your a good swimmer but would also recommend you run the run portion first.

  • Comments: It was a really positive atmosphere. It was organized and well planned and pretty easy for a first timer to manage. The staff and other participants were all very supportive. I'd reccomend this race to anyone at any level.

  • Comments: The race was a little unorganized: i.e. they made announcements about helmet stickers (there weren't any), they didn't announce the waves until we were in the water, and the food at the end was unusual (danish with icing, pound cake, and a warm watermelon). You could buy burgers, but I couldn't figure out where. Tons of great volunteers, though! A beautiful course, and fairly easy - no big hills on the bike. Giveaways included a cheap water bottle and a ring tee-shirt, plus some Hammer Gel and coupons. Parking wasn't too far away, and was clearly marked. One really neat thing was that, following the national anthem, we were treated to a Buddhist chant - maybe it was this that made me break my Sprint PR. : )

  • Comments: This race had a lovely course chock full of cheering townies along the entire stretch. It also was hilly enough in both the bike and the run to be a challenge, without breaking me! I would do this race again any day (um, with the exception perhaps of tomorrow!)
