Pre-race routine:

I don't really have a "routine"...I pack the night before, get up, eat breakfast and I'm on my way. This wasn't my "A" race, just thought it would be fun!
Event warmup:

I just walked around, checking out the course and transition. You could do the events in any order you want, tri and du options. I chose to run/bike/swim - that always made the most sense to me - go for a refreshing swim after running and biking! I didn't fill out the transition info because of the goofy order.
Swim
  • 26m 56s
  • 820 yards
  • 03m 17s / 100 yards
Comments:

The water was a little chilly for me without a wetsuit, but I survived. I was definitely tired but I didn't feel that bad. I couldn't see anything though - time for new goggles! I stopped many times and had to take off my goggles to figure out which way to go. Very frustrating...I'm usually a better swimmer so my time was a little disappointing.
What would you do differently?:

New goggles
Transition 1
  • 00m
Bike
  • 54m 7s
  • 14 miles
  • 15.52 mile/hr
Comments:

HILLY! But those are good for me, right? I felt good, even though i'm still pretty slow. I was able to get my fastest downhill speed to date - 30 mph. That was fun!!
What would you do differently?:

Train on more hills :)
Transition 2
  • 00m
Run
  • 34m 32s
  • 3.5 miles
  • 09m 52s  min/mile
Comments:

It was a concrete path with a gravel shoulder most of the way, Also a little hilly, but no too bad. One aid station at the half way point. This will probably be the only time in my triathlon career that I actually run the entire run leg! (Because I did it first!) This is definitely a PR for me!!
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around getting goody bag, food and drinks. Stretched on the grass.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Beside the goggles, it was a decent race for me. I'm training for an oly and this was just a fun and well-organized workout.

Event comments:

I love that you can do the events in any order you want - good time! The weather was a bit cooler than average for this time of year which helped quite a bit. I think it could have been kinda tough if it were any warmer.
