Swim
Comments: The pool swim was well ran. I wasn't passed by anyone, and passed several people. I had a lady in front of me refuse to move over when I caught up to her, she probably cost me 10-15 seconds. All things considered I was happy with my swim. What would you do differently?: Work on my turns a little so that when I kick off the wall I come up at the right time for air, and not be near the bottom of the pool when I need air. Transition 1
Comments: The transition area was well set up but the run from the bike start to the mount line felt like I was doing a cross counrty race. It rained all over the transition area for about an hour and a half prior to me getting out of the water. So putting on the wet bike shoes, and running over the wet ground barefoot was a little tricky. Once I got through the cross country portion it was fine. What would you do differently?: Maybe bring a poncho to cover my transition area in order to help keep it dry. Bike
Comments: I liked the course, luckily for me I was told about a few tricky spots, with sharp corners that are a little dangerous when dry and since it was wet was rather tricky. Some of the hills had some grade but not for long stretches. I was satisfied with how I did on the bike. What would you do differently?: The thing I could do better on the bike is to force myself a little more and push myself a little more on the hills. There was a section of the course that I could have pushed myself a little harder but apparently felt content watching the people in front of me and not trying to catch them. Transition 2
Comments: I had the same cross country course coming back after the dismount as I did going out on the bike. Again the rain made my shoes wet, which made them a little difficult to put on. What would you do differently?: Put that poncho over my transition area to keep it and my things dry when it is raining. Run
Comments: I enjoyed the run today, after my run on last weeks triathlon. I did everything I could to keep going without stopping. I had to stop a few times but not as many as I have in the first two I have done. I would find a spot to stop at and when I got there would pick another one and keep going. What would you do differently?: Do more bricks, and work on finishing a 5K without stopping at all. That would be a good accomplishment for me. Post race
Warm down: Walked around and waited on other FATriwarriors.com members to finish. Had a few orange slices and a half of a banana with some water. What limited your ability to perform faster: The weather caused me to slow down a little on the bike for safety reasons. The weather also made the whole transition area wet causing me problems putting on my shoes in both T1 & T2. Event comments: The race was well organized and well staffed. I could definitely see myself running this race again. Last updated: 2010-07-27 12:00 AM

Woke up drove to event, was about a 1 1/2 hour drive. It rained all the way there, and was pretty chilly when we got there. I drank a gatorade pro series G2 1 protein shake (strawberry). Set up transition area, and looked around to familiarize myself with the entry and exit points in transition. Located the mount and dismount line, and where we would exit the pool building from. Drank some water to make sure I didn't get dehydrated.
Since my swim time was over an hour later than the start I didn't do much warm up, except for some stretching.
