Run
Comments: I basically used this 10k as a good spring off to restart some speedwork (which I haven't done in a long time!). Post-70.3 on July 11, I took a 3 week break. I've only been back at training for 3 weeks, and that's been 99% Z1/2 stuff to get me ready for IM. This was really fun. I entered that "red zone" and tried my hardest to cling onto it. What would you do differently?: I wish I had known just how high up I was in the standings, because I really could have pushed past 2 ladies ahead of me to get 7th, at least. Damn it!! Next time... Post race
Warm down: Walking around, stretching, watched the 1km All Male Dash - 3 dudes, all wearing bright pink just gunning it... What limited your ability to perform faster: NO speedwork, bahaha Event comments: This was the first event that I've done that was "women only". It was an entirely different atmosphere, and it was quite surprising to start out at the front of the pack. I prefer having male booties to look at. Last updated: 2010-08-04 12:00 AM

Up at 6:40am, had breakfast, out the door by 7:30am. I commuted on my shitty mtn bike to the race site. It was so cold in the morning! But I locked my bike and gear up, checked in, visited the portapotty, warmed up a bit, then got to the race start.
Some easy running, some strides, jumping up and down, keeping warm.
