start further front, to the inside to avoid all the ladies who wanted to walk too much

next year a tri suit so I don't have to strip off knee suit and put on shorts and jersey. Experiment sockless.

Comments:

my worst event. Knee problems reared their ugly head by mile 1 marker. Walked most of the course. I had made peace with that possibility before the race, so I was please do do even a little jogging.
What would you do differently?:

Stay in physical therapy a lot longer!! See a sports physiologist and respiratory therapist to deal with the on-going knee problems and asthma.

inexperience, low overall fitness level, asthma, old knee injuries, poor equipment

Event comments:

Aflac treated us beautifully! Great pre-race seminars, talks and vendor expo. Great give-aways and post-race breakfast. Very newbie friendly. Good course except the swim. Wild depth changes, tons of weeds, zebra mussels. Aqua socks a MUST!!
