  • Comments: The only other complaint was the wait to get into transition after race. I totally get not wanting anyone in before last cyclist in, but then they were only allowing 5-10 in at a time. Waited for them to leave then 5-10 more.... REALLY????? Never seen this done before. How many of my husbands races have I been to? Even this sponsor - Ironman.... (of course Ironmen don't get linen table clothes at the finish meal LOL!!!!) Cost us at least an extra hour, meaning we didn't get home until after 7:00pm on a work night.

  • Comments: I won't rate this race because this and last year's are the only ones I've ever done. We had a new sponsor this year, and the swag was a little lacking, for the price. As I walked into transition to pick up my stuff, I began to cry, I couldn’t help it. I was really disappointed in my time because I was hoping to improve upon last year. I ran into 2 Y friends, experienced triathletes, who insisted that the swim was 200M longer than last year, and that wet roads slow you down, no matter what. And that I just couldn’t compare my times from last year. We shall see. I’m still ticked, but trying to focus on the positives: I didn’t backstroke, I had a great swim, even if it was longer. I ran the transitions, which I walked last year. I biked and ran in the rain, and survived. I had not trained as hard this year, and it showed. But despite that, I didn’t really do much worse than last year (not talking about the swim. LOL) I have lost 7 lbs. since last year’s race. I have now finished

  • Comments: I'd like to do it again next year, but better. I thought I would do it better this year. While I can say that the 5 extra minutes it took me this year was because the swim was so much longer than last year (the real 600 meters, which it was not last year) I just didn't swim or run better like I'd wanted to. I don't know why on the swim. The run I've been struggling with since I got that cold at the end of June, so I suspected that would happen.

  • Comments: Overall I would have to say I had a great race. I definitely could have swam better. Will definitely be doing it again! The women were awesome, the volunteers were great, and my family and friends who supported me were even better!

  • Comments: The Aflac Iron Girl races was PERFECT for a newbie. The volunteers were fantastic, the women doing the race were SO supportive and the course couldn't have been laid out better. I really look forward to next year.

  • Comments: Aflac treated us beautifully! Great pre-race seminars, talks and vendor expo. Great give-aways and post-race breakfast. Very newbie friendly. Good course except the swim. Wild depth changes, tons of weeds, zebra mussels. Aqua socks a MUST!!

  • Comments: Very well organized and FUN!!!! I wish my husband had been able to see better to take more pictures. He was only able to take a few, but I guess with the amount of people there I couldn't do anything about that!!

  • Overall course based on my ability: Too easy

  • Comments: a 600-meter swim feels too easy these days. How two years of training changes things!!! disappointed that my hubby couldn't see me at all during the entire race. First off, he needs to cut 5 minutes off my predicted times (except for the run, where I predict pretty accurately).

  • Comments: This was such a fun race. Very different vibe to race with just women, and I loved it. Everyone was so encouraging. I will definitely do this race again next year. I am also totally excited that I came in 24th OA!! 8 in my AG, but out of 88 and a tough ag to boot. Very fun.
