Swim
Comments: The fog played a huge role in the navigation. We all stayed together since I think not many knew where we were going-more laundrymat than usual. For some reason I thought the first turn buoy was yellow so I almost overshot the turn. Luckily I got laundered and followed the crowd. Downstream I thought I'd slam it but I got quite wide and had no drafting the whole backside. I nailed the turn again, watched someone cheat the buoys and then pushed to the T1. Thought I hit a tree in the water or something, turns out-SHALLOW deckers creek outlet. Strong finish since I paced the stupid thing and slammed the hill to T1. What would you do differently?: Refresh buoy colors and swim course. Shorter swim warmup. Better drafting. run faster if I find shallow sections. Push not pace the course. Transition 1
Comments: Great hill run, great run along parking garage, great run to bike. Glasses checck, helmet check, bike check-gone. ran to mount line and saw 3 people standing there-STILL-trying to mount and go. I ran all the way to the bridge before mounting and pedaling away. What would you do differently?: run faster Bike
Comments: Good ride, wished the brake situation wasn't there. But great course-no congestion. Great aid station. 1 bad hill. fast course. What would you do differently?: Pre-race closer inspection of bike. Not freeze water bottles if its going to be cool @ start time. Push even harder. Transition 2
Comments: Had a clean dismount. Watched the guy in-front of me place feet on shoes, and upon dismount lost a shoe-AND HE LEFT IT ON THE COURSE! I dismounted, with shoes on, and ran to rack bike, got stuck on narrow path to T2 behind girl with mountain bike-it happens. Racked and grabbed small bottle on way out. tried to loosen legs with some high knee and buttkicking through T2--cramped Left calf, stopped drilling and started running. What would you do differently?: Not do drills in T2, let the legs come on their own. Run
Comments: Great course, great volunteers, great scenery. nice shade with trees too! What would you do differently?: Had a slow mile 1 and slow mile 5. Need to work on more bricks, and mentally prepare when no-one is around. Post race
Warm down: Tent, pics, and family! What limited your ability to perform faster: Fog, Hill and brake, mental. Event comments: Great homecoming race! Last updated: 2010-08-11 12:00 AM

Alram sounded @ 4. Normal Breakfast of cereal protein milk blueberries and caffeine. Packed and was out the door by 5:30. Drove to event and had trouble with the demo wheels-never used pump on them so asked nearby people-no help-saw friend Vinnie as I entered transition-thank God. Had last rack in the corner, and was able to get 1 slot from end. Talked with all the missed old friends- Dan/Andrew/Vinnie/Joel/Ronna. Pedialyte and honey stick with 2 endurocaps 30 minutes out.
Water warm-up with half iron group in docking area. Didnt realize there would be a delay with the fog, made the warmup a little long for me. Then warmed up a little bit more with Vinnie, mostly to break the chill I was starting to get. Couple form drills and a couple 25 sprints.
