  • Comments: Do NOT do this race. Seeing as it is one of the only races in morgantown (SSS WVU hospitals/BOPARC/Habitat race) I understand if you must. Dont expect a fast swim Train on HILLS with EASY gearing Be ready for mile repeats as the run Be ready for crowded transition with no officials. I hope they give it up and someone else decides to manage it. It has gotten SMALLER every year. River loops, bike loops, and now run loops. If they change the swim back, bike back, and quit making CHANGES within days of the race and I'll reconsider. Sad so sad, my allegiance to this race has died. THANK YOU to all volunteers and congrats to all competitors. Also THANK YOU to all the police, good seeing you guys again.

  • Comments: Very disappointed in the race this year. Changed the date Changed the start times the DAY BEFORE the race (no reason) Changed the swim (for no reason-they said trail construction. However the trail was completed and even if it wasnt you do a point to point swim) Laps are for a small lake or a pool Changed the transition area WAY too SMALL (Half Iron athletes ran THROUGH transition as part of the run COURSE) Changed the bike (HILLIEST bike course-PERIOD) Changed the run 1 vendor expo post activites no existent (food laid out in bowls, at some points there was no water/infinit at the finish) awards are free to take off table, no ceremony/recognition. I would think that since they ran 5 races there would be something, guess not. HFP tried to use a multimonitor truck to display race times-waste of time. No Wells Fargo represenative No MGD64 (these were both primary sponsors) I overheard that this was the last year of this race. Sad but I dont see many people signing up for a

  • Comments: I put "just right" for the course, but some mind find the bike to be "too hard." For me, it's "just right" if it challenges me enough that I think I might not finish, but I'm still able to. The only course that would be "too hard" would be one I couldn't finish standing up. Great job HFP on the race. Definitely worth the 4 hour drive. (Will update with official times and results when available)

  • Comments: There were some great things and some not so great things about this race. The not-so-great: I didn't feel like they did a good job at telling us about the course (the difference between Oly and HIM swims, and that the 40k bike didn't have to do an out-and-back section), the website wasn't terribly informative, race ran late, some roads were REALLY bad. The great: small race, nice swim, beautiful venue, challenging course, lots of post-race food, lots of volunteers and plenty of drink stations, AG awards 5 deep (which is how I got hardware despite not even being top 50% of my AG), and a VERY VERY spectator-friendly course. Especially having done it once and now knowing the course, I'd do it again.

  • Comments: Good time overall. Excellent parking in the garage - right above transition, but then it was a 1/4 mile or so walk back from the finish. Didn't like the road they put us on for the start and finish of the bike. I thought it was too rough and narrow since bikes were going in both directions there.

  • Comments: I am not a speed demon and probably never will be, but I felt great on this race and am very happy with a 21 minute improvement over last year on the same course!

  • Comments: I have only done four tris so far. This was by far my favorite. Not only because I did well (for me)... I stayed for awards where I received my 4th place XL2 plaque as well as a big bottle of hammer gel and a hammer gel flask. I guess the gel and flask were a thank you for folks who stuck around to actually receive their awards rather than take them and run. The race was well-organized and the volunteers were great. I think Morgantown showed off some of its finest attributes today... the people here. I was proud to be a Mo-towner. I was glad to have been connected with this race. I will certainly do it again Lord willing and the creek don't rise.

  • Comments: Transition area was tight in space and for the bike entrance/exit. Not a lot of room to work with at the venue site.
