Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4:15am, drove to Boulder with Derrick, set up transition, then went down to warm up.
Event warmup:

Swam 1 lap around the warm up area, then got out and it was time to start! Yikes!
Swim
  • 34m 19s
  • 2112 yards
  • 01m 38s / 100 yards
Comments:

I was VERY surprised with my swim time. This was the first time I swam a mile! I was pleased with my time, with this being the longest swim I've ever done!
What would you do differently?:

Hmmmmmm. It was extremely rough swimming on the inside. I was getting swam on top of by other athletes. It was so annoying. Next time I think I'd start a little more on the outside, and have better swimming conditions.
Transition 1
  • 03m 17s
Comments:

First ever transition. I don't know what a good time is.
What would you do differently?:

Probably it could have been faster.
Bike
  • 2h 34m 19s
  • 56 miles
  • 21.77 mile/hr
Comments:

My knees were hurting a bit. I felt like I could have gone harder, but I was trying to be really conservative (thinking of the run). I SHOULD have gotten a bike fit a long time ago! I think I need to get a fit to be more efficient. Oh man- the TT bikes were flying by on the flats and the downhills. I passed lot of athletes on the climbs, but traded places on the flats and downhills. Oh well- I'll maybe get a TT bike someday...
What would you do differently?:

I think I could have gone a little harder. This should have been my strength, but I didn't leverage it.
Transition 2
  • 01m 43s
Comments:

It sucked running with my cycling shoes on. Felt really weird.
What would you do differently?:

Not much.
Run
  • 2h 04m 37s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 09m 31s  min/mile
Comments:

It was so incredibly hot. I was dying. If there weren't aid stations at every mile- I would have gone home early. I was planning on running way faster, but this race proved much more difficult than I was prepared for. Next time...
What would you do differently?:

Train more.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

6 months of training.

Event comments:

First race. All seemed really good. I had a great day (very sore and tired though). I look forward to doing another triathlon, and perhaps getting better.
