  • Comments: Overall, pleased with the event and with my time. Day after HIM rested; following day went out for a 10k run and did best time at 52min. Surprised that I didn't feel achey at all following the event. Likely could have pushed harder throughout, but was a great experience and glad I did it.

  • Comments: Lost sungalsses, low tire pressue due to broken valve stem, over heating on run, numb foot...it was a rough but awesome day and next time i will be better prepaired.\ I think the finish line could have been better, i was pretty suprised when i rounded the corner and it was there.

  • Comments: There needed to be an area close to the finish for fluids, carbs, shade, etc. After the fact, I found out that if you walked all the way back through the village to registration they had pizza and fluids but that was hardly intuitive.

  • Overall course based on my ability: Too easy

  • Comments: I liked this race. I didn't see any food though. I'm sure there was but I looked at the finish line and to the exit and they only had bottled water and the protein shake. The swim was well organized. TONS of boats out there. Bike course was super easy but the open traffic for 15-20 miles sort of sucked. Trying to pass people safely at this part was a little difficult. I liked that the course was one giant loop so I didn't have to loop to the slower people and it helped keep packs down to a minimum. Run course sucked, imo. I did not like the trail part. The fist sized rocks everywhere meant you needed to step with care. Not horrible by any means but I'm sore from trying to balance my tired body on them for 13 miles. Overall I liked this race.

  • Overall course based on my ability: Too hard

  • Comments: Although I didn't perform well, this was a great race and I had a lot of fun. Had a great attitude when it was over... I finished which is all I wanted to do. I stressed a lot before the race and considered dropping out a number of times due to lack of proper training and preparedness. It was awesome racing with Christian and I hope to do plenty more races with him over the years.

  • Comments: this was my first Mdot race. They do a great job organizing the event. plenty of aid stations and volunteers. Can't comment on post race because I had a bottle of water and left. If there is one thing I don't like is that you have to check your bike in the day before and no race day check-in. other than that...I give them high marks!

  • Comments: I really liked this course. Wasn't crazy about the run, but given the location it's probably the best option with minimal interference on the community. I'd put it in my Top 3 in terms of the volunteers and course. VERY disappointed there was no chocolate milk to be found afterwards. Pizza was just ok.

  • Comments: Good race overall. Great venue. Great volunteers & staff. Good weather. The food at the end is always sub-par but then again I don't usually stick around for much of it. Also food/drink tent should not be way in the back of the expo after racing that long the last thing I want to do is walk farther than I have to.

  • Comments: As for the race, the volunteers were fantastic, and the race execution and organization was top notch. As for me, not what I intended when I signed up for the race months ago, but I did manage to hit both my goals, although barely on the HIM PR, but solid on the bike PR. So I'm satisfied if not overjoyed, and glad that I made it through to the finish line despite the challenges getting there. Now for six weeks of solid training in an attempt to have a strong day at Savageman.

  • Comments: it's a boulder race. I feel like they're less awesome than other WTC events, which is pathetic, but it is what it is.

  • Comments: I was absolutely surprised too break the 5 hour barrier on my first 70.3 and only my 3rd triathlon ever. I loved it! A very well organized event by Ironman.

  • Comments: It's the Mecca of triathlons! You must race in Boulder! The altitude was not an issue whatsoever. By the way, I saw Craig Alexander cheering us on at the intersection of Highway 36 x Ute Highway. I could not have asked for a better race and I was blown away by my final time.

  • Comments: The only complaint I have is the run course has no shade or relief, and it was hot. But everybody had to run the same course so that's just me whining. This was my first half ironman so I don't have anything to judge it against. I liked the swim start and seeded myself in the correct wave, and the swim wasn't nearly as bad as I worried it would be. Only 1 guy breaststroked over the top of me. The bike was challenging with the hills but not bad. I just fell apart on the run and paid for my hydration mistake. Next time I'll take a water bottle or at least more water at each aid station. Overall I had a great time and will definitely do more longer distance triathlons.

  • Comments: Great Race for my first 70.3. . Goal was to go sub-5:20 and I just missed the 5 hour mark in my first HIM so I'm pleased. Fun, fast bike course. The "flat" run sure didn't seem flat when you hit that hot hill again at mile 7-8ish.

  • Comments: Had a good swim, hit my goal bike speed and overall time goal but I was frustrated with my hamstrings cramping and a subpar run. Was thinking about doing two half IM's next year and then moving up a full, but I think I'll stick with one half IM a year for awhile!

  • Comments: Wish this race were a few weeks later once things start to cool. Running in the 90's is not fun at all. Seems this race has almost out grown it's location. My family had to walk from Jay rd. If not for my slow race they would have missed me at the finish.
