Swim
Comments: Overall a bad swim. I had a good start, but could not get into a smooth cadence. It was a crowded wave and since we had 4 wave ahead of us we started catching other waves quickly. Ultimately i made a horrible mistake and sighted on a wrong marker. I swam way off course and cost myself time. I think I may have swam 100M extra. What would you do differently?: Better sighting and more time in pool the weeks leading to race. Transition 1
Comments: Fast transition. Ranked 24 of 911. Not much I can do to get faster. I did spend a lot of time getting into my shoes. Need tri specific shoes this off season. What would you do differently?: I guess I can run faster to make up a few seconds. Other than that, I can't do much. Bike
Comments: It was a good bike for me. If I work on my climbing, I can probably shave several minutes off my time. The second half of the course is fast. I think you can leave it all out in the fist 15 miles and just cruise home on the last 10, with a high cadence. What would you do differently?: Attack the first half a lot harder. Transition 2
Comments: rank 22 of 911. Once again, fast. The only way i save time is if I run faster in and out. What would you do differently?: Maybe come into transition a little faster. Be familiar with the dismount line and ride right up to it quickly. Run
Comments: I can't believe my time. Very disappointing. I thought I was running at 7:30 the entire time. I felt very good, but i don't feel I could have gone much faster. At least I was faster than last weeks race. What would you do differently?: Push faster. Post race
Warm down: Not much. Just try to move around. Kids were great. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training. Need stronger legs and more miles under my belt. Event comments: Great race. Not a fan of the swim course, but the run and bike are great. I will probably be back next year, because one of my long term goals it to make it to Escape from Alcatraz. Ate large bowl of oatmeal. Coffee. Toast and power bar in the car. Drank some Cytomax through out the morning.
Not much warm up. A little jog. Did swim for about 5 minutes.
