Swim
Comments: Felt good during the swim. I don't think the distance is 1100 yards. Seemed a little shorter to me. My swimming has improved a lot this year. However, I don't think I can hold a 1:42 per 100 yard pace for that long. Overall, it was good swim. What would you do differently?: Keep doing speed drills in the pool. Practice sighting more often. Transition 1
Comments: Happy with T1 Bike
Comments: The bike segment is where I can improve the most. I felt like I did a better job changing gears in this race. What would you do differently?: Need to focus more on the bike segment this oof season. I'm going to look into getting a coach to help me with this. Transition 2
Comments: Happy with T2. Run
Comments: Felt great. Was able to get up to speed much more quickly this race. What would you do differently?: Over the last 12 months I started doing interval training on my runs. That helped a lot. I'm going to up the intensity this winter of my interval training. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Not focusing enough on bike training this year. Event comments: I really enjoyed the race course. The lake was seemed clean and the water temp was nice. The bike course was great. Very scenic. The run course was through the Callaway woods then finished by hooking around the lake. Very nice course. However, the organization was poor. No athlete info packet. Body marking was nowhere near the transition area. You had to figure that out on your own. The bike and run courses were not closed to traffic - an athlete was hit by a car while on his bike. Hardly any voluteers. No signs inticating where to enter and exit the tranition area during the race. Since I've done a few of these I was able to figure this stuff out on my own. If this was my first tri - I would have had no idea what was going on. Great course - just a poorly organized event. Last updated: 2010-08-23 12:00 AM
