  • Comments: The race itself was well-organized, but the before and after seemed chaotic and poorly planned. Could use more attention to detail.

  • Comments: In 30yrs, the race director has been lucky not getting someone killed on the course with the traffic. IT NEEDS TO CHANGE. Either make the race earlier, delay the opening a while, or close the gates during the race. Transition was NOT secured. People wandered through there at their own will. People rode their bikes through transition without issue. Transition was VERY WIDE OPEN. Lack of volunteers. Good venue, good course, but poor organization!

  • Comments: heard a rider got hit by a car. That puts a damper on your ranking as far as I'm concerened. Overall it was a good race. Not Team-Magic caliber, but still pretty darn good.

  • Comments: Need someone monitoring the turn around on the run. I didn't see anyone do it but you could easily turn around far short of the distance as there was no one checking to see that you went to the turnaround point. The bike needs a marked dismount line. You are riding along and then there is the timing mat. Callaway Gardens is a great venue but the traffic continues to be a safety issue. One biker was injured by a car pulling out in front of him. Others complained of cars slowing them down because they were blocking the roads. The mile markers were not accurate. Mile 2-3 was short, mile 3-4 was long. Transition area has bike racks. Some were using trees to lean their bikes against, right beside the bike out. Maybe there is no rule about where to put your bike as long as you are in the transition area but that just seemed odd. Beautiful place that I will continue to use for running and biking.

  • Comments: I really enjoyed the race course. The lake was seemed clean and the water temp was nice. The bike course was great. Very scenic. The run course was through the Callaway woods then finished by hooking around the lake. Very nice course. However, the organization was poor. No athlete info packet. Body marking was nowhere near the transition area. You had to figure that out on your own. The bike and run courses were not closed to traffic - an athlete was hit by a car while on his bike. Hardly any voluteers. No signs inticating where to enter and exit the tranition area during the race. Since I've done a few of these I was able to figure this stuff out on my own. If this was my first tri - I would have had no idea what was going on. Great course - just a poorly organized event.

  • Comments: Overall this is a great place to hold a race... I just think they need to find a way to closed the bike course to traffic.. There are some blind spots on the bike leg and with the cars could be dangerous..

  • Comments: Although this event is not stocked with lots of volunteers, a great swag, or after event food. It is still real fun. The course is great and the people are nice.

  • Comments: I really like it here..Bike course is a little different in that you don't generally see so many 90' turns. Mostly closed course is so preferable to riding on shared road, and the run course is definitely fast. I plan to keep coming back.

  • Comments: My first "Olympic" distance, was a good preview for how hard I need to focus for Tugaloo. Can't say that I lollygagged, pretty much left it all out there on the course.

  • Comments: While it is only my second triathlon, there was no Expo afterwards ... no vendors hawking wares, no band, nothing to bide your time while awaiting the other racers to finish and race results announced. The registration packet lacked stuff other than information about other DJE races.
