Swim
Comments: Mike Frank said course was actually 0.26 miles. Navigation and effort were very good for me compared to other races this year. What would you do differently?: I would like to draft more. Transition 1
Comments: Suit really stuck on timing chip. Sucked!!! Dropped my goggles getting out of the water. One of the volunteers chased me down and gave them to me so no time was lost. All else went well. Managed to clip in on second try which was a major improvement Bike
Comments: Bike competition was very good this year. I had a nice group to compete with. I got really stuck in construction on hwy 16 where there was a no passing zone for a long time. It was a major challenge for me to hold back and be patient. Transition 2
Comments: Excellent transtion for me. Run
Comments: There is no way that course is 5k. It must be much less or my GPS is lying. What would you do differently?: My hamstring injury really hampered my run prep. I did the best I could given the amount of training I could do. Post race
Event comments: Well organized and competitive. The organizers made good decisions about single file through construction zone. Plenty of volunteers in the water. Last updated: 2010-08-25 12:00 AM

Up at 5:15. Shower. Breakfast (waffle w/ peanut butter and syrup and coffee). Drank a little gatorade and ate a banana about an hour before race time. Got to Silver Lake at 6:00 and got in line to get a good spot in transition. Transition opened about 6:20. Got a great spot and got organized
Started warm-up about 6:45. 1.5 mile jog w/ some strides. Two mile bike high cadence. Out to buoy and back for swim. Walked over and waited for my wave. There is really too big of a time gap between close of transition and my wave. I should probably go do my swim warm up after they close transition
