Swim
Comments: This swim is weird. There is a lot of knocking into each other. It's because the swim starts in a narrow boat dock area, then the swimmer spread out for room in more open water. Then all come back together for more banging around to round the boat, but it's not so bad here. Swimmers spread again for the return loop and then come back together for more banging into each other while the swimmers funnel into the boat docks again. Transition 1
Comments: There were no bike racks, so most people (including me) had to lay their bike down. I could not clip in my shoes as practiced. Instead I put my shoes on then ran in the shoes (ineffecient) and then mounted on the line. What would you do differently?: I may Consider buying a rack for this race. Bike
Transition 2
Comments: Forgot to get my feet out of the shoes before dismount. What would you do differently?: Remember to get feet out of shoes before dismount. Plus, check out where the dismount line actually was, it was poorly marked. Run
Comments: Uphill grade for the first part then all the way downhill for the fast finish. Post race
Warm down: Walk. Rehydrate. Event comments: Regarding volunteers, this race has sufficient people considering the money you spend for this race. This race is very cheap and therefore worth the price paid. The racer must take into consideration some duties themselves and not be too picky here. THere is no chip timing, no time splits (Swim, t1, bike, t2,etc..). There is post race nutrition and awards. If you want a intro to tri's this is an average race with no pressure but plenty of people to race. Last updated: 2010-08-27 12:00 AM
