  • Comments: Same group of people running the same race making the same mistakes. Transition area was still being marked 1.5 hours before race time (just like the past three years). Race director used a cheap bull horn to make post race announcements ans we could not hear much of anything. It is simply slow and disorganized just like previous years. It is a good thing that children get books with the proceeds from this race, otherwise it would be a complete disaster.

  • Comments: Regarding volunteers, this race has sufficient people considering the money you spend for this race. This race is very cheap and therefore worth the price paid. The racer must take into consideration some duties themselves and not be too picky here. THere is no chip timing, no time splits (Swim, t1, bike, t2,etc..). There is post race nutrition and awards. If you want a intro to tri's this is an average race with no pressure but plenty of people to race.

  • Comments: Was a nice little race that the directors said has been getting bigger every year. Mount and dismount line/area could have been marked. We were just given vague guidelines. Would have been nice to have water still at the first water stop on the way back.

  • Comments: A better race for me than I expected. My goal was 1:32:00 to 1:35:00. Finishing in 1:23:45 was remarkable for me. Last year, this was my very first Triahtlon and I thought it was really well done for a fund raiser activity. My time was an appalling 1:55:00 while exactly one year later I finished in 1:23:45. Compared to last year there were only a fraction of the volunteers working this race. The race director again used a small bull horn to attempt to address over 500 entrants. Most of the people including myself could not understand what he was saying. I found the event to be largely unorganized and poorly done. At least some school kids got proceed to help buy them books. Sadly, gentlemen lost his life during the swim portion of the race. An autopsy is underway, however I presume he died of a heart attack. We all wish his family well.

  • Comments: for my first race it was probably the best one I could have chosen. It was local, all the people were nice and it is a beautiful course.

  • Comments: This was my first race ever. I trained (road my kids bike) a few times around the neighborhood (maybe 10 miles total), swam about five times (between 200 to 400 yards each time) at a local pool, and ran 2 miles twice. I am actually training and plan on doing better next time.

  • Comments: The race was loosely organized by a local Rotary club. The transition area was basic, with no bike racks so that we had to lay our bikes on the parking lot. Still, it was a fun day with a lot of volunteers supporting us throughout.
