Swim
Comments: Good swim, no problems navigating, nor did I get in the pack and get swam over. I stayed out of the mix to the left and had a pretty good line to the buoy. Transition 1
Comments: Took my time getting my wetsuit off. Probably could have sped things up a bit. Bike
Comments: No issues with the bike. What would you do differently?: Need to add more hill training. Living near the beach where it's flat doesn't help. Transition 2
Run
Comments: No problems with the run What would you do differently?: As with my bike, I need to train more on the hills. Post race
Warm down: Walk and stretching. Sports drink and sandwich worked. What limited your ability to perform faster: Age? Event comments: They've been doing this race for a long time and have it down to a science. The only negative is the start for the short course where we had to wait for a long time to get a few lifeguards in place. This happens all the time, so I would think they could do something to fix that? Other than that, I love the course, the volunteers, etc. Last updated: 2010-09-03 12:00 AM

Normal breakfast and a cup of coffee for the hour drive to San Dimas. Check in was quick and organized, plenty of spaces in the T-area. Nothing significant
Swam for about 10 mins
