  • Comments: This Oly/sprint event has been around for years (this sprint was my 2nd ever tri in 2007...and remains my only AG win). A classic "local" race...always about 100 or so athletes in each of the two races, with a smattering of local elites.

  • Comments: They've been doing this race for a long time and have it down to a science. The only negative is the start for the short course where we had to wait for a long time to get a few lifeguards in place. This happens all the time, so I would think they could do something to fix that? Other than that, I love the course, the volunteers, etc.

  • Comments: This felt more like a season opener race for me - felt good but can see gaps in my training. I think it felt like an opener race because I have not been swimming (shoulder tendonitis) or biking much (1/2 marathon and marathon training). I felt really good mentally though and I did try hard so pleased with that.

  • Comments: I always enjoy the course at San Dimas and plan on coming back next year. The overall event, organizers, volunteers , park personnel, cops, etc., did an awesome job.

  • Comments: Once again the organizers and volunteers did an outstanding job. This is a great series of races for those that are just beginning and those who want to do an Olympic distance course. The weather was great, the water was perfect, the food was delicious. The only negative experience were some idiots on horses on the trail during the run course. I don't blame the organizers as much as the people on the horses not paying attention to what is going on and staying off the trails until the event is over. Other than that, I'll be back next year in May of 2008.

  • Comments: This is a race specifically intended for beginners--there is an Olympic distance race run concurrently, sharing parts of course. The run course is really a trail run (no major hills, though)...organizers should be clearer about that (esp. given the high percentage of first-timers in the race). Despite some minor lags (parking lot opened late, race started about 1/2 hour late), I thought this was a very friendly and well organized event.

  • Comments: For being such a small race, it was tons of fun. I was suprised at how many pretty serious racers there were, but it didn't feel too competitive or anything. They could have marked the course a lot better, there were just some arrows on the ground and a few signs. An elevation profile before the race would be wonderful. If you know what you're getting into though, it was a ton of fun!
