Swim
Comments: This was the mistake I was talking about. I put my face in the water at the start, and inhaled. It was so damn cold, my body was ok, but the water... god damn, it was harsh. I had to do a polo swim for a little bit, face out of the water... I eventually got into a rhythm of breathing every 2 strokes, which is really rare for me, I normally roll with 4 or 5... It was hard work. I took in a bit of salt water, and promptly chucked it back up in the water. What would you do differently?: Get in the water before the start!! Otherwise, I think I did alright. Transition 1
Comments: It would have been so much faster if they hadn't had the world's longest run in these transitions. I guess they have to with 2000+ athletes there! What would you do differently?: Not a lot. I think I did ok this time. Bike
Comments: I think I struggled on the bike due to not enough recovery from last week. No excuses, just setting a time for the rest of the season. What would you do differently?: I can't wait to get the cadence sensor for my birthday... I need some more information on what I am doing on the bike!! Transition 2
Comments: I was going to try the feet on top of shoes thing, I got them undone but ran out of road, so just unclipped. My feet were numb again, so I took the shoes off, and ran into the worlds LONGEST run in transition. Seriously, it was a 400m run around just to get to my bike rack, what a joke. What would you do differently?: I am going to get this feet on top of shoe thing by the end of the season, I swear! Run
Comments: I did make a deal with trainer Rodney that I would run the whole way, but I just couldn't do it. I need more running and brick training :( What would you do differently?: Suck it up. Post race
Warm down: Long walk back to the car :) What limited your ability to perform faster: Not a lot this time. Probably exhaustion, not a lot of time to recover. Found something quite important when I got home from the race... my seat had fallen 4cm from where it was meant to be... Simon didn't do up the bolt properly when he adjusted it. No wonder my knees are sore. $%^&. Event comments: Definitely a good race. Because I was one of the last waves, and one of the slowest, people we already heading home by the time I finished, but that's ok :) Last updated: 2010-09-09 12:00 AM

I had to have had to WORST night sleep last night.
I was awake pretty much most of the night, and the two times that I did start to drift off to sleep, Superman was grinding his teeth and woke me up.
I shouldn't have napped yesterday, because I was more than exhausted by the time I got to St Kilda this morning.
I made the mistake of just checking the water with my feet... more on that later.
No real warm up!
