  • Comments: Got my redemption, 14th in AG is awesome. Think the AG wasn't as quick as some others but I'm not complaining. With my own garmin, on fresh legs, I wonder.... Might have to concentrate on short course next season... :) Usual top quality organisation with plenty of awesome vollies!

  • Comments: I know I came 3rd (I have the medal to prove it, lol) but seriously, it felt like I should have come last. I felt slow and heavy and completely unco. Let's just say that was the race to blow out the short course cob webs and give me the kick in the pants I needed. More speed & strength training coming up.

  • Comments: Felt sorry for SuperSprint, a group of their marshalls bailed, leaving the registration and numbers writing queues too long. I stood in line for 20mins. I'll take my own sharpie next time! But really, I loved it and am back in the swing of things. I loved that I could tuck in on the bike using the aerobars and I was pretty happy overall. Oh, and I got a medal for coming 1st in the Athena category - for which I sort of feel guilty. Am I cheating by going in Athena (70kg+)? I'm 80kg and have NO hope of going sub 70kg (trust me - I'd be a stick). If I had competed in my age group, I would have come 15th - not bad either.

  • Comments: volunteers could be a bit more enthusiastic! I didn't get one cheer on the course! overall, took 5 mins off my time from last triathlon of same distance and roughly same conditions but my rank has gone down due to way more people entering now. happy that i've improved.

  • Comments: Definitely a good race. Because I was one of the last waves, and one of the slowest, people we already heading home by the time I finished, but that's ok :)

  • Comments: It was smart that they cancelled the swim - the chop was huge and they couldn't have safely spotted any floundering. I wasn't prepared for the replacement 2km run - I'd planned on using the swim to loosen up the calves. There were probably 30 guys in my age group. I did ok on the initial run, but the cycling let me down again - just don't have the strength to power through things like headwinds. The final run, ignoring the injury, was ok - I had my Garmin set up properly this time and set and kept to a pace that didn't race my heart or burn me out.

  • Comments: There was a fabulous atmosphere today, the tri scene just keeps growing and I'd say the warm weather bought a lot of people out to spectate. Super sprint are determined to listen to the competitors and utilise the feedback they are getting so there was plenty of music happening and lots of volunteers to usher people swimming the wrong way, point out the massive dip at the swim exit and provide encouragement.

  • Comments: Wow I was pretty tired after the race. Definitely severely dehydrated. Ate a million pancakes for lunch, had a snooze & off to have some beer with Rich & Christine. WILL make it to swim training tomorrow morning, after an early night to bed me thinks!
