Comments: Couldn't find rhythm in swim and had trouble keeping line. Buoys were far apart and had trouble seeing next one in the line. Water was awful and "lake" was shallow enough that I hit hand on bottom at one point while swimming. Transition 1
Comments: No running with bikes allowed. Calf cramped coming out of water. Slowed transition and made start of bike more difficult What would you do differently?: Avoid cramp coming out of water. Bike
Comments: Could have gone faster but was fighting cramps the whole way. Salt tabs helped when cramps began, but HR was not in zone I would have liked to see. What would you do differently?: Go a little harder Transition 2
Comments: Fairly smooth transition for me. Legs very sore, which affected speed coming out of transition. Run
Comments: Could find rhythm because of constant changes in surface. Just tried to keep moving. Last mile on more solid surface was best. Post race
Warm down: Drank lots of water and stretched calves, legs. What limited your ability to perform faster: Cramps. Event comments: Small event, but not well organized. Lots of standing in lines to start. Lake was horrible. Run course was more challenging than event description would lead to believe. Not enough food at end for even the small number of contestants. Warm-up run for about 15 minutes. Warm-up swim for about 10 minutes.
