Pre-race routine:

Stomach churn... Nervous anxiety... etc. Walked between the transition area and the pool to get a feel for what it would be like...
Event warmup:

Light stretches... Didn't warmup in the pool- Was afraid of robbing any extra energy I might need.
Swim
  • 06m 4s
  • 328 yards
  • 01m 51s / 100 yards
Comments:

Strokes and endurance felt great... My performance was not up to my expectations due to some trouble (with the dang goggles). Still did reasonably well timewise despite all of the standing around.
What would you do differently?:

Put my goggles on before I jump in... What an idiot! I was stopping at the edge of each lane trying to fix them- They were full of water the whole time... D'oh!
Transition 1
  • 03m 44s
Comments:

Harder than I expected. I was light-headed/woosy and had a hard time getting things done quickly.
What would you do differently?:

Uh, dunno... I think the transition went well... I was a little woosy when I came out and it took a second to get my bearings.
Bike
  • 38m 28s
  • 11.5 miles
  • 17.94 mile/hr
Comments:

Went okay... Felt pretty comfortable the whole time. Need aero bars to get into a more aerodynamic stance and shave some time off.
What would you do differently?:

Get out of my comfort zone and push a little harder... I need a device to track my distance/speed progress so I know I need to... Couldn't tell how fast I was going.
Transition 2
  • 01m 51s
Comments:

Good try on the transition... These things are tough... Trying to be efficient at these silly changes is more challenging than it appears.
What would you do differently?:

Focus on what I need to do before I pull up to the transition area.
Run
  • 28m 56s
  • 3 miles
  • 09m 38s  min/mile
Comments:

Walked a good portion of the hill... Just didn't have the mental willpower to get up it. Slow, slow, slow... I haven't run this slow for ages!
What would you do differently?:

Train more... Need more practice runs OUTSIDE instead of on the treadmill. Running outside is way different than the treadmill. Plus, I didn't get enough running in before the race. I'd like to focus on hill climbing on runs, and more bike-run bricks so I can learn to handle the transition.
Post race
Warm down:

Cried... Didn't do as well as I could have...

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of proper training/consistency, and mental willpower.

Event comments:

Cant really compare it to others since it was my first, but it seemed very well organized and was lots of fun anyway!
