Got up at 4:00, got ready, ate a Clif bar and drank water. Usual pre-race routine.

Good swim, felt fairly relaxed. Too worked up to breathe every 3 strokes, so I went with every two. Still able to swim pretty straight.
What would you do differently?:

Try to start off more slowly and relaxed.

Wetsuit strippers helped a lot. Long run from swim exit to transition to bike rack.

Bring the Shot Bloks with me on the bike.

HR was in the high 170's when I got on the bike and out to the seawall. Tried to bring it back down to save something for the run.

Glasses were so fogged up I couldn't see the road surface which was a little dangerous on the road from the seawall to T2.

Drink more.

Great race in a great location. It's been a few years since I have done this race, but it was great to be back. Plan to do it again. Swag used to be better before it became official 70.3 event.
