Swim
Comments: knowing that I am a slow swimmer, I started far left and about mid pack. I stayed left of bouys all of the way out until the turn. This worked great as there was very little traffic. The second lap for me was more congested, but no big deal. I guess at my pace there is not too much sense of urgency anyway What would you do differently?: I could have swam harder, but what is an extra few minutes really worth if you use energy you will need later Transition 1
Comments: pretty easy. I was not in any real hurry Bike
Comments: I could not decide what to wear based on how cold it was. I finally opted for not adding anything additional. I wore bike shorts and short sleeve jersey. Other than my toes, I never was cold. I rode well to the halfway point where I stopped and changed socks. The second half was slower due to the wind and the fact that my neck and shoulders were starting to get tight. all in all I enjoyed the bike What would you do differently?: not much. I was pretty relaxed. I could have pushed harder between miles 56-85. I should have put sandwich in special needs bag. Transition 2
Comments: took some time to stretch neck and shoulders. ate a little and took off Run
Comments: nice course with great volunteers. As you can see by my time, I am not much of a runner. I had no real plans other than run as much as I could and walk the rest. I just made sure that my walk pace was never over 15 minutes per mile. Post race
Event comments: I was shooting for a sub 15:00 hour race. I was very pleased to go under 14 hours. The weather was perfect for me. Last updated: 2010-11-16 12:00 AM
