Pre-race routine:

Woke up a 4:30, got loaded up and drove out to the race and had to pay 7 bux for parking, had a coffee, clif bar, and gatoradefor breakfast along with a bunch of rok bloks and gu's. Then at the race ate a banana, apple, grapes, orange, and some walnuts.
Event warmup:

Stayed mellow and laid down under a tree for a while.
Swim
  • 30m 34s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 52s / 100 yards
Comments:

At the start I was getting annoyed with all the bumping and just wanted to get in my flow. I really enjoyed the swim, I dont think i really pushed hard, I wanted to pace myself and leave some gas in the tank. I had a couple of issues with navigation but overall im happy with my performance.
What would you do differently?:

Do more open water swimm training.
Transition 1
  • 02m 46s
Comments:

Had some foggy vision coming up the bank of the river, and jogged through T1. Took it nice and easy getting on the bike, and caught my breath.
What would you do differently?:

Buy some new goggles before the race.
Bike
  • 1h 13m 14s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 20.36 mile/hr
Comments:

I had a blast on the bike, and polished off a 24oz bottle of 70/30 water gatorade. I stayed aero as long as i could.
What would you do differently?:

Get a TT bike?
Transition 2
  • 01m 58s
Comments:

I could have gotten out of shoes a little quicker but i really didnt know where the line was but i did allright.
What would you do differently?:

Pull up faster to the line
Run
  • 52m 59s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 08m 32s  min/mile
Comments:

I wanted to make sure i was hydrated, but i felt i had a big ole stomach sloshing with water. I dumped water on myself at every chance, and my shoes got all wet and i developed blisters. I focused on trying to lift my knees up and get some smooth breathing.
What would you do differently?:

Just run more and develop more endurance and speed before the race.
Post race
Warm down:

Cold towels, ice water everywhere, pizza beer.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I think that the wind on the bike wass a factor, and the heat on the street made a difference. But, thats why i train.

Event comments:

I know about all the gliches and mishaps, but I have to say that I think it was a lot of fun. I would recommend it.
